Dr. Abir Bin Sajj (Shagata)
Dr. Abir Bin Sajj is a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He
is a Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgeon with a keen interest in
Keratoconus, Phacoemulsification with Premium Lens Replacement, LASIK and ICL/
IPCL. Dr. Abir Bin Sajj completed his graduation from Armed Forces Medical
College (AFMC), Dhaka, Bangladesh and obtained his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine
and Bachelor of Surgery) with Honors in Forensic Medicine in 2013. Dr. Abir
completed his Residency in Ophthalmology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical
University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2021 and obtained his MS (Master of
Surgery) in Ophthalmology. For his remarkable and outstanding performance in
the MS Residency exam he was awarded the prestigious “Chancellor’s Gold Medal”
in Ophthalmology under the Faculty of Surgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib
Medical University (BSMMU). He is the first and currently the only
Ophthalmologist to have received this award in Bangladesh. He further completed
his Fellowship in “Cornea and Refractive Surgery” from Vision Eye Hospital in
2022. He is in private practice and specializes in complex cataract surgeries,
challenging refractive surgeries, corneal ectatic disorder like Keratoconus,
trauma and Cornea transplant surgery. Presently he is a Consultant in Vision
Eye Hospital and has performed more than thousand refractive surgeries like LASIK,
PRK, ICL and IPCL and several thousand cataract surgeries. His commitment to
providing the highest quality care for each patient involves deploying the
safest and most advanced surgical treatment for his patients while using the
most advanced technologies. Dr. Abir is an academic mentor for BAViS
(Bangladesh Academy of Vision Sciences) and one of the chief surgical mentor
for Phaco and SICS (Small Incision Cataract Surgery) training program of Vision
Eye Hospital. He has over 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has
presented scientific research papers in various national conferences.
